Principal of William J. Butler School

Melissa Onesto is an experienced administrator with a strong background in special education. She was selected to lead Butler School in the summer of 2015. She is a firm believer in servant leadership and works hard to serve students, teachers, parents and the community. Prior to joining the Homer 33C family, Dr. Onesto was an Assistant Principal in Joliet School District 86 where she was recognized for her organization, patience, professionalism and always having the best interest of children in mind above else. She also served as the district’s Special Services Coordinator for five years. Dr. Onesto received her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Studies from Indiana University, a Master’s degree in Special Education from National-Louis University, a Master’s degree in Administration from Northern Illinois University, a Director of Special Education endorsement from Northern Illinois University and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University. She lives in Naperville with her husband, David. They have two college-age sons.
