In my spare time, I enjoy bowling, crafting and spending time with my family.

Nominate a FAMILY! Disney World Vacation

Even though the Village of Homer Glen came in second to the Village of New Lenox at the Pop Tab Collection Challenge - we still win! Thanks to the generous donations of Konow's Corn Maze, Zachary's Red Barn, Birchwood Gardens, Chesdan's Pizzeria and Grille, Raffy's Candy, and Mayor Tim Baldermann of New Lenox there are enough Donation funds for TWO vacations to Disney, which means one special Homer Glen family will also receive a vacation to Disney World (valued at $5,200).

Here's how it works: Nominate a family with a special needs family member by filling out the form located on the Village website (click the link above "Nominate a Family"). Families may nominate themselves. Each nominee receives ONE entry into the drawing. If we receive multiple entries for a particular family, we will only enter the nominee name ONCE, so that each nominee has the same chance of winning. The final winning family will be drawn at random on August 17th from the nominations that are received and the winning family will be notified. We ask that the winning family attend the Village Board Meeting on August 25th at 7pm to claim their prize.

It's a pop tab collection war! To celebrate the creation of the new Ability Awareness Committee, the Village has wagered a friendly war with the Village of New Lenox: the village that collects the most pop tabs by June 30 wins! The winning village will reward one family with special needs a vacation to Disney World (valued at $5,200) generously donated by Walt Konow of Konow's Corn Maze and Zachary's Red Barn and Farm Events.

All pop tabs collected will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House, which allows parents of critically-ill children to sleep free of charge near the hospital while their child undergoes treatment.

Pop tab collection boxes are available for free at Village Hall. Collected pop tabs can be dropped off at Village Hall in the vestibule through the Administration front doors. Village Hall hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM.
