Meet the Principal

Assuming the principalship of Schilling School (Grades 1-4) in 2015 was a little bit like coming home for Candis Gasa. The educator began her teaching career at the school in 2001 when she was hired to teach third grade. She became the District’s Gifted Coordinator in 2007 and was promoted to Assistant Principal at Hadley Middle School in 2013. In 2015, she was selected to become the principal of the elementary section of Schilling School. “I’m coming full circle,” she said. “It’s a good fit.” Mrs. Gasa received her Liberal Arts degree from the University of Iowa, majoring in Elementary Education with a specialization in Reading and Language Arts. She went on to receive her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University, Chicago. She and her husband, Zach, are the proud parents of twins, Zaden and Emery.
