Meet the Dean

Kelly Kardas

Dean of Students

Kelly Kardas is committed to making school a place where all students can be life-long, independent learners and productive citizens in a rapidly changing world. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education (with a Minor in Psychology) from Illinois State University and Master’s degree in School Leadership (Type 75) from Concordia University. Her first teaching position was in Glen Ellyn School District 41 where she taught sixth grade math and eighth grade Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and Honors Geometry. She joined the Homer 33C family in 2016.

Always eager to learn something new, Ms. Kardas has participated in a number of committees through the years, including a Parent Teacher Advisory committee, Positive Behavior Interventions and Support Committee and Crisis Planning committee. She enjoys working with students of all ability levels and helping them succeed. “Education is a gift and should not be taken for granted” she said. “I believe that education is a continuous cycle and one’s learning never ends.”

Outside of school, Ms. Kardas enjoys Irish dancing. She was a Champion Irish dancer for six years and competed abroad in Ireland and Scotland. She lives in Lemont.
