Welcome Fifth Graders! I am elated to have you as part of our school and classroom community.
Here is a "little" bit about myself so you can get to know me better: I was born and raised in Homer Glen thus a graduate of Homer 33c. I received my bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, Mathematics, and Spanish from Saint Mary's College Notre Dame. While at SMC, I served as a four-year student manager for the University of Notre Dame's Baseball Team. In 2015, I graduated with my M.Ed from the University of Notre Dame. After graduating, I began teaching at Hadley in 2015. That same year I decided to pursue my middle school math endorsement because basically I am a nerd and I love to learn. In 2016 - 2018, I completed a second master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction while also completing my 200-hour yoga teacher training to be a certified yoga instructor.
In January 2019, I traded up my nerd status for mom status and became the mom of two beautiful twin girls. They are the most wonderful bundle of joy.
In my "free time", I enjoy being outside, running, biking, yoga, watching sports games, especially baseball, spending time with my extended family and walking my two dogs.
I firmly believe my job as an educator is to first teach to the social-emotional student and second to the mathematician and scientist. I strive to create a safe, welcoming classroom community where students are told that they are loved daily but also challenge academically to reach their personal highest potential.
