Meet the Dean of Students
Heather Petersen
Heather Petersen graduated from Illinois State University (Go Redbirds!) with a major in PE and minor in Health Education. She also has a Masters in Educational Technology and Educational Leadership. She spent the first 4 years of her teaching career as a physical education teacher at Avoca Elementary School in Glenview. While teaching at Avoca, she began coaching at Fenton High School and received her endorsement in Driver’s Education. She later went on to teach summer school Driver’s Education at Fenton High School and Downers Grove High Schools. Heather spent her last 10 years teaching physical education and health education at Eisenhower Junior High (EJH) in Darien. While at EJH she also had the opportunity to teach a 6th grade computer class, create, implement, and teach a PE elective class (Lifelong Wellness), and coach a variety of sports. Heather is passionate about getting students involved and providing opportunities for students to feel welcomed and connected at school. She also served as the athletic director and student council sponsor where she continued to build relationships with students and their families, found ways to get them involved, and celebrated their successes. Heather enjoys collaborating with the Hadley community, staff and administration to give the students the best experience possible.
