Meet the Director of Building and Grounds
Glen Wysong brought his expertise in Building Automation Systems and Building Operations to Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C in June 2014 when he was hired to serve as the district’s Director of Buildings and Grounds. He started his training in 1988 as an apprentice in Chicago, working on high-rise office buildings and hotels. He received his Associate in Applied Science degree in HVAC from Triton College and continued to work in Chicago for nearly 24 years before moving into the public sector. In 2012, he was hired to oversee the buildings and grounds operation in Forest Ridge Elementary School District 142 in Oak Forest. Two years later, he accepted the Director of Buildings and Grounds position in Homer 33C.
Mr. Wysong stays current with industry changes, attending a variety of continuing education programs. He is certified in many areas, including Building Automation Systems, refrigeration, engineering and security. He received his 1st Class Power Engineer certification from the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers (NIULPE) and a universal refrigeration license through the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES). He also earned the Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM) credential and is currently working on completing the Facilities Management Designation Program through the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO).
Mr. Wysong lives in New Lenox with his wife, Susan. They have three adult children.
