Charla Brautigam is a former newspaper reporter whose passion for reporting on all things education related led her to switch career paths in 2006, first as Communications Coordinator for New Lenox School District 122 and then as Assistant Director of Community Relations for Lincoln-Way High School District 210. She joined Homer School District 33C in 2015 to lead the district’s communication efforts. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Eastern Illinois University and was an education reporter for The Joliet Herald News and The Elgin Courier News where she received several awards from the Illinois Press Association and Associated Press for her school board coverage and reporting on school referenda. She lives in Frankfort Township with her husband, Dennis.
